Gazprom says European gas storages at record low

MOSCOW, Apr 15 (PRIME) -- The European storages have spent all gas pumped there last summer, and have a record low of 25.2 billion cubic meters of gas left, Russian gas giant Gazprom said on Friday on its Telegram channel.

"According to Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE), the season of gas outtake from the European storages finished on March 19. By that moment, only 25.2 billion cubic meters of active gas were left. This is one of the lowest levels over a many-year period of monitoring and 5.5 billion cubic meters less than as of the same date in 2021," the company said.

The consumers took 51 billion cubic meters, or 107.8% of the gas pumped in the summer season.

Gazprom also said that Europe would have to pump at least 63 billion cubic meters of gas in its storages by the next winter season.
